One of my favorite type of kitchen decors is open shelving.  I love to see bowls, plates, cups and jars all neatly arranged on the shelves, especially colorful ones.  One important tip I have learnt is that when you opt for open shelving, try not to mix your dishes with food items.  It’s best to group like things together so that they don’t look so complicated.  Confine food, baking items or prenatal vitamins to baskets or canisters.  You can hide almost anything in these baskets or metal canisters.  Here are some nice open shelving kitchen from The Inspired Room.

Just decorate it with throw pillows.  Easy peasy huh?  I saw this great tip from RealSimple.com and would like to share them with you.  Check out the different styles below.

For the Modern Look, use odd numbers of pillows in different sizes

You can have a Traditional Look with two or four large pillows arranged on either side of a sofa.  It imparts a sense of symmetry and order

If You Want an Eclectic Look, then place three or five pillows to create a pleasing asymmetry without cluttering the sofa.  Just place them casually as if they just happened to be there.
