I am supposed to look up some great travel deals for my family vacation later this year but before I do that, I must share these wonderful home decor tips with everyone.  I found some really clever ideas on how to repurpose everyday items from RealSimple.com.

Xylophone as Message Board.  Magnets can be used to display messages on the metal keys of the instrument.

Skateboards hung on the wall can be used as shelves.

Put a planter indoor and turn it into a side table.

A room divider is great for breaking up space in large rooms.  If you have an open living space and would like to have some privacy, here is a good tip from Better Homes and Garden.  The divider below carves out an entryway in an open living room.  This simple idea which consists of three unfinished cabinets also provides a nifty storage unit.

I seriously love this shoe closet idea.  I think these are actually three bookcases lined side by side.  What a great idea, don’t you think so?  I believe I have just found the best solution to store all my shoes in one place, plus some room to keep other stuff like magazines, books, testosterone supplements, knicks-knacks and more.  Now, I cannot wait to give my shoe closet a makeover.

I found this fabulous etsy store called Old Crow Farm from GoingHomeToRoost.com.   Old Crow Farm rescues cool junk for those who love to spruce up their home or office with vintage items.  I found so many lovely things in this online shop.  Here are some of my favourite pieces.

This rescued farm find is great for storing magazines, toilet rolls or extra towels in the powder room.  You can also line this cool basket with moss and turn it into a beautiful spring planter.

Old Bakery Pans

Oh how I adore this old bakery pan.  It has 4 spots to organize kitchen utensils, crafts, accessories, bills and letters.   It makes a perfect organizer.  I can see it in my bathroom holding my toothpaste, creams, face wash for acne and more.

I love this funky distressed lattice design metal locker door.  A great message board or display for family photos.

Choosing the right bed linen for the bedroom is important.  The right bed linens make a big difference in a good night’s sleep.  Quality sleep makes a person fells rejuvenated in the mind and body.  If you would like to give your room a makeover,  changing the bed linen is one of the important things to do.  The bed is the focal piece of furniture in the bedroom.   Therefore finding the right bedlinen for the bedroom decor is very important.  It can make or break the design of your bedroom.   I am planning to give my guest room a makeover so I was looking around for some bed linens and chanced upon this beautiful Cross-Stitched Bedlinen from Toast.co.uk.    Its design is simple and elegant.  Besides getting the glucosamine sulphate for my mom, this bed linen will be in my shopping list this week.

I was chatting with my friend about the benefits of l-dopa which she is taking right now and our conversation went to our favourite topic – shopping for our home.  She just told me that she discovered this cute shop called Blue Carrot Shop which has a wide range of vintage knicks-knacks for the home.  My friend just bought a few vintage citrus crates to keep her magazines.  I so love them!  I believe I will be spending a lot of time browsing this fabulous store.

Being a shoeholic, I cannot stop buying shoes.  Right now, my shoe closet is so full of shoes that it is about to burst.  I must really find a solution for my ever-growing closet.  I am so inspired to see these creative and clever ways to store the shoes from one of my favorite decor blogs – Desiretoinspire.net.   Here are a few storage ideas which I love.

Recently our LCD tv has started to give us some problems. I know it won’t be long before it conks out.  We bought this tv 2 years ago when we moved into our house.  Unfortunately, the lifespan of an LCD tv is pretty short.  My husband has started looking around for a replacement.  He plans to get a 52-inch full HDTV when the existing one is no longer working.  This means that we would have to start looking at tv stands too because our present one will not be able to withstand the weight of a 52-inch tv.

My 5 year old has been asking me to decorate her bedroom.  She has been sleeping with us in the master bedroom but now she says she wants her own bedroom.  This only means one thing – she will be sleeping on her own very soon.  We have been trying hard to get her to sleep on her own but to no avail.  So hopefully when she sees how lovely her room is, she will sleep on her own.  So, instead of looking up the car insurance for my sister, I scour the internet for some ideas on how to decorate a kid’s bedroom.

The bright blue wall is beautiful.  I love the painting of the owl and tree.  Perhaps I could use some wall stickers on the bedroom wall.

I love the idea of hanging a group of artwork on the wall.  Colourful storage boxes/baskets are great for adding some colours to the room.

This poster bed is one which my 5-year old would love.  I like the colourful cushions and the wall art.
