A friend of mine just moved into her new apartment a few weeks ago and she has invited me to her new place for dinner.  I was looking around for a gift for her and came upon these nifty tools for the kitchen.  Designed in London, the Elevate Kitchen Utensils include spoon, ladle, slotted spatula, slotted spoon, spatula and spaghetti server.  The Kitchen Utensils feature innovative, soft-grip handles which keep the head of the utensil from touching the countertop.  With these colourful cookware, who needs spoon rests anymore?  My friend loves to cook so I think she would like these elevate kitchen utensils from UncommonGoods.com.  Perhaps I should take a look at the electronic cigarette usb charger too.

I found some new uses for old things from Real Simple.  It is great to reuse, re-purpose and recycle.   Check out these cool ideas which is just excellent for your home or office.

Tin cans wrapped with leftover wall paper or gift wrappers make pretty desk assessories.

Fill an empty glass with your favourite items like seashells or colour marbles.  Then use it to prop up some books.

Stack several books next to your sofa or chair to turn it into a side table.

Use some shoe boxes covered in decorative paper to store bills and documents.

I was blog-hopping to my favourite home decor blogs just now and came across a few decor styles that are really inspiring.  One of them is a very cool kitchen featured in Apartment Therapy.  It is named the Happy Morning Kitchen.

Besides the bright yellow wall, I love how the owner of this house uses a recycled wooden crate as a wall shelf.  I also love the wooden table and the vintage stone flooring.

I would love to sit here and have my meals.

Another very unique and beautiful DIY headboard from Re-Nest.com.  The owner uses two antique wooden doors to create a headboard.

A bed made from shipping pallets.  This was featured in Apartment Therapy too.  The bed comes with handy storage space between the slats.  What a great idea using repurpose items.

Seeing these great ideas have left me so inspired.  I am looking for some ideas on how to use repurpose items to organize my closet.  I want to keep my shoes, GoLite Backpacks, accessories and linens neatly.  I will share these ideas here in my blog once I manage to find them.

Met up with a girlfriend a few nights ago for dinner and we had a great time chatting just about anything from our kids to natural fat burner.  After dinner, we adjourned to a cafe for coffee.  This cafe belongs to another friend of ours and what caught my eyes when I was there was the cute Male/Female WC sign on the wall.  My friend told me that she bought the handcrafted signs from Mooza at Etsy.com.  I just love them, don’t you?

Decorating With Mirrors

Mirrors are a great way to add some style to any room.  They are used to illuminate dark corners, adding elegance to an area or creating the illusion of space.  Mirrors can even serve as works of art.   If you are looking for mirrors to decorate your home, do check out some of my favorite mirrors below.

A beautiful large multi facet wall mirror is a stylish way of adding more light into a room.  Available at GrahamAndGreen.co.uk.

A pretty mirror with scalloped edges which feature a delicate flower and leaf pattern.   This mirror is handcrafted in India.

A simple rectangular iron wall mirror with lily pad motifs on opposite corners.  This mirror is great for many areas in the house.   It will definitely add interest to plain walls or corridors

Can I have this in my house?

As usual I was blog-hopping last night and chance upon some really gorgeous home decors.  I wish my home is decorated like that.  If only I am as creative as those home owners.  I found some nice images from TheHappyHomeBlog.com.

Love the birdcage.   The white shelves against the white wall has a calming effect.

I would love to have a butcher-block benchtop in my kitchen.  Oh I am also crazy over the white wooden floor.

A swing in the living area is just fabulous. I know my daughter would love it.

I do not remember where I saw these gorgeous lamps from but I had fallen madly in love with them.  I love everything that is made from bamboo, jute and sea grass.  Just like when I got my insurance at wholesaleinsurance.net, my pulse was racing when I saw them.   I certainly want a few of them around my home.

There is nothing better than a table made of natural wood.  Available at Anoukb.com

I found a really neat idea on how to organize the toiletries in the bathroom.  Kristen at Peace Love and Craft decided to do something with the shelving in her bathroom.  She got some canvas containers from Ikea and labelled the organizers with wool yarns.  Cool huh?  Now she has a neat storage for accessories, jewelry, toiletries and etc.  Hmm…perhaps I should get some canvas organizers and do the same in my closet.  I need to keep my scarves, hats, equestrian helmets, riding gloves, and socks in a better organized way.

I was at a friend’s house, helping her with the payday advance loan application a few days ago.  I couldn’t help but notice how she uses a ladder to decorate her bathroom.  I have always love the idea of using ladders to decorate the home.  Many people use ladder to decorate the wall, as a plant stand or just as a decor piece in the living area.    Some ladders are being re-purposed as shelves.   Below are a few inspiring ways to decorate with ladders.
