In my previous post, I talked about the lovely dream home which was transformed from a garage.  Most of the items found in the home were refurbished or repurposed.  What caught my eyes while looking at the pictures of the home were these beautiful metal lockers.  While it was not mentioned what the lockers are for, I presume that they are used to store clothes and linens.  Isn’t that an awesome idea?

I saw another red one too.  Would love to have them in my home.

I spotted this lovely dream home which was created from the garage at Calfinder.com.  Homeowner, Michelle de la Vega designed and built this custom home from an old garage.  Guess how much she spent on the renovations?  Only $32,000.  Brilliant eh? Most of the fixtures and furnishings in this house are custom built or refurbished and repurposed by her.  This 250 sq. ft. home features a cozy loft sleeping space, a bathroom with bathtub, a fireplace and a kitchen.

My most favourite space in this home is the amazing kitchen.  It is simple and functional.  I love how the homeowner uses crates for storing plates, utensils, spices and more.  Hey, I think these crates are great for fruits or whatever fat burning foods we can find.   Seeing this lovely kitchen inspires me to give mine a makeover.

I love distressed furniture.  It is a great way to decorate the home.  Distressed furniture creates a look that appears to be from years of use.  It creates a warm cozy atmosphere.  I wonder where I could find a distressed computer table to hold the epson printers in my home office? Perhaps I should start learning how to distressed my furniture.  Anyway, if you are a fan of French Shabby Chic furniture, I am sure you would also love the distressed furniture I found while blog-hopping.

I was blog-hopping just now and came across this really great idea for the home at pickupsomecreativity.blogspot.com.  The owner of this blog had used some big cans to perk up her laundry room.    First, she spray-painted the can.  Then she cut out some fabrics and used hot glue gun to glue the fabric into it.  Voila, brightly coloured cans to store knick-knacks in the laundry room. You can even use these repurposed fabric cans in the kitchen to hold cutlery or prenatal multivitamins.

My friend’s sister who majors in Information Technology has been on the lookout for  IT Jobs over the last couple of months but was not successful.  My friend, a believer in Feng Shui told her sister that perhaps she should give her home a makeover.  Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese philosophy.  It is the art of enhancing lives by creating harmony and balance in our environment.   It encourages positive flow of energy throughout your home.   My friend’s sister loves black and grey.  She has a grey wall, dark colour sofa and etc.  So my friend suggested that she adds some colours to her living area by using colourful cushions and rugs.  Her sister should also open the blinds more often and let the sun shine in.  This will activate the yang chi of joy and happiness in her home.  An indoor fountain in a favourable area of her home is good to attract the things she desires.   My friend’s sister did just that last weekend and hopefully she will hear some good news very soon.

Love this decor from Kate Spade.  A bright orange wall, some colourful cushions or perhaps a bright colour chair are enough to brighten up the room.

I came across this really beautiful movie seats from Etsy.com.  They were salvaged from a movie theater in Chicago that has been closed down since the 50‘s.  The arms on these chairs are numbered 4,5,6 & 7.  Each chair folds up and they can be mounted on the floor or boards.  If you would like add some vintage touch to your home decor, these antique movie chairs are just what you need.

I was surfing the internet a while ago and came across some wonderful lamp shades made from Japanese paper.  They are created by Adeline Klam, a multi-talented artist and photographer.  Her creations are so lovely and inspiring.   All her products are handmade in Paris and there are 31 different designs to choose from.  Besides lamps, there are garlands, stationery sets, cushions, photo albums and more.  I just love the look of these items in Japanese paper.  They elude a calm and serene atmosphere in the home.  I can picture myself relaxing in my home after a long day at work, enjoying a cup of coffee, reading the opiate detox review or a book.
