I have been meaning to clear the garage last year but did not get around to doing so.  It is actually not a fun task but I have to do it because the whole place is in a mess.  Since the weather is warmer now, I am in the mood to do some reorganizing.  I plan to get a few shelving units and storage boxes for all the tools and what have yous. After finishing my atro phex reviews,  I went online to look for some ideas and found a few that I really like.

If you are looking for ideas on how to create a headboard, well look no further than this cool idea from Sunset.com.  Just arrange a few small light weight mirrors on the wall.  Don’t they look glamorous?  Reminds me of one of the hotels I stayed in last summer.  Mirrors are simple and easy to install.  They can also make a room look more spacious.

I have just packed some of my thicker clothes away and bring out the lighter ones into the closet.  Yup, it is time to re-organize my wardrobe again. I do this every season.  I just noticed that I need to get some storage bags to store my handbags.  Well, before I go out to do some shopping, I think I would watch this new drama – Ghetto Justice for a while.  I saw the trailer last week and it looks like a show that I would enjoy.  It is a 20-episode drama starring my favourite actors Kevin Cheng and Myolie Wu.  This drama also stars Sharon Chan, Joyce Tang, Eddy Kwan and many more.    Here is the synopsis.

This story is about a lawyer (Kevin) who once used various unscrupulous means just to win all the high profile law cases. Subsequently, his consciousness got the better of him and he changed his ways, set up a ‘village’ law firm together with his cousin (Jazz) and good friend (Sam) in order to help the poor and common people. His relationship with another lawyer (Myolie) got strained when the two of them have differing views about handling the law cases.

If you do not know already, I am obsessed with anything that is made from straw  or grass. While searching for barcode scanners, I hopped over to one of my favourite retail stores, Free People’s blog and saw the beautiful displays in their new store in Houston.  There were many straw basket lights hanging from their ceiling. The bottoms of the baskets have been painted with colours and hung on the wall too.   These basket pendant lights are just awesome!

Beautiful and creative

They are great as planters too.

I just love this idea very much.  I hope to find some of these baskets for my home.

Summer is here.  This means there will be plenty of beautiful weather ahead.  It is a good idea to get the kids playing outside instead of spending time inside the house and watching tv or playing with computer games.  Let them enjoy some fresh air outdoor by climbing, jumping and playing on the swing sets.  Those are good ways to keep the kids from getting bored at home.   If you are looking for some backyard fun for your kids this summer, then you may want to check out the swing set installation new york at Best In Backyards. It is a fun way for the children to get some exercise to stay in shape and keep active.

Recently, I have taken a liking to branches.  When I visit some of my favourite home decor blogs, I feel very inspired by their creativity.  Some use branches to decorate their homes and some use them to decorate their wedding party.  Just a few days ago, a neighbour was pruning her trees and I managed to get a few branches from her.  Then I went to HouseTweaking.com and found a few cool and organic ideas on how to decorate using branches.  Hope you like them too.

Gardening In The Summer

I love being surrounded by green plants in my home.  The previous apartment which I stayed in has a balcony and I had many potted plants there.  I love seeing my ‘mini jungle’ everyday.  I think if my spouse and I were not in the sales jobs, we would be spending a lot of time in a nursery or a greenhouse.  If you too love having plants in your home but is lacking in space, then you may want to check out www.Az-et-Mut.fr and get yourself a hanging garden.  Made from biological cotton, the handbags are created for balcony plants and flowers.  The bags can be easily attached to balcony railings and are light and easy to carry.

A friend of mine who works for the drug and alcohol treatment centers for addicts loves to decorate her home with flea market finds.  She is also into many DIY things.  My friend would turn old suitcases into storage boxes, vintage flower pots into coffee table and etc.  She finds this very therapeutic.  She even help to decorate the drug and alcohol treatment centers she works for.  When I came across this colourful shelf at CountryLiving.com, the first thing that came to my mind was my friend.  It is just something that she would do.  This old dresser was turned into a colourful shelf for displaying books and collectibles.  Remember not to throw away your old dresser.  Just remove the drawers, repaint them and paste some colourful wallpaper on them to create a nice background.
