Furnishing My Home!

While my spouse was checking out the toro zero turn lawn mowers, I was busy looking for birthday party ideas for a 6 year old.  My niece is celebrating her birthday next month and my sister and I have been looking for inspiration on how to decorate the party as well as party favors.  We are planning to incorporate pastels in the decor like pink, light green, white and blue.  I came across a few lovely ideas from Penandpaperflowers.blogspot.com.  Can’t wait to get started on our little project.

While my spouse was reading a catalog on pool disability access lifts, I decided to surf the internet, looking for a housewarming gift for a friend.  I was at H&M Home and came across so many gorgeous items.  Should I also get a few things for my home too?  Oh they really made me want to give my home a makeover.  Here are a few things that caught my eye.

Summer time means spending lots of time outdoors or long evenings on the porch. If you have lots of space in your home and also love spending your time swinging away, then you may want to check out some lovely swings.   Check out this Barrel Swing from The Conran Shop.  This charming swing chair is made of recycled French oak barrel staves from Stellenbosch Winery.  It is suspended from nylon ropes.  The swing can carry a maximum weight of 350lbs.   There is nothing better than spending some cozy time with your loved ones on the swing.

You know how much I love products made from bamboos eh?  Well, when I spotted these awesome idea from Pinterest, I just had to blog about it.   Get a few bamboo steamers in different sizes  (available at most Asian grocery stores), remove the bottom and glue the steamers together.  When secured, hang the bamboo steamers on the wall with nails or picture hooks and use them as storage.  A very unique and eco-friendly way to store small items and even portable baby monitors if you like.

I am supposed to check out the eotech sights as a Father’s Day gift but I thought I’ll share with you what I really want this summer.  It is none other than a hammock.  I just love lounging in one.  A hammock is so relaxing.  There is nothing better than resting on a hammock, reading a book or just do nothing.  It would be great to have one inside the house.  Yeah, I know a hammock is usually on the porch but I would prefer some privacy.  I saw this photo at Apartment Therapy earlier today.
