This Chairside Storage Table is what I need in my living room.  It is great for storing remote controls, writing accessories, TV schedule and more.  It drives me crazy when I cannot find the remote controls which sometimes went under the sofa or hidden under the newspaper.  This Chairside Storage Table is a functional piece for the home.   Check out Solutions.com if you are interested.

My garage is not exactly organized at the moment.  It is driving me a little crazy to see things everywhere on the floor and some in bags strewn all over the garage.  I was looking for storage ideas online and chanced upon these handy cubby sets from PlowHearth.com.  They are made from solid wood and feature many compartments.  There are so many things you can keep in this organiser like boots, garden supplies, tools and many more.  I think I can even keep my mazda mx 3 custom floor mats here. They are also great for the kitchen, laundry room or children’s room.

A friend of mine is expecting her first baby and both she and her husband are interested in converting their study room into a nursery.  They are staying in a 2-bedroom apartment in downtown.  She was asking me if I can provide her with some ideas on how to decorate the nursery.  My friend would love to have a simple decor.  I went to check out some of my favourite home decor blogs and saw this simple nursery decor at Simply Grove.

I also like this nursery decor from Ikea.  It looks simple and cozy to me.  Perhaps my friend may want to get some halloween accessories to decorate the nursery since she is due to give birth about 2 weeks before Halloween.

Oh we are almost at the end of August already.  Looks like summer is going to end soon.  Where has the time gone?  I love this image which I saw at Simply Grove.  It reminds me of summer a lot.  I always love a home with bright and airy windows.  I just can’t get enough of the natural light in the home.   The home decor is so simple and cozy.  Check out the colourful sofas.  They look so comfortable too.  It would be wonderful just to relax in a home like this on a warm summer night, reading a book or watching tv while the kids are playing on the nintendo ds. Bliss.

Two days ago, I spent the evening at my girlfriend’s home.  It was so much fun having dinner at her place.  We talked about fashion, food and even mens diamond watches. I really enjoyed spending time with her especially when we dined outdoor since the weather is so nice.  On the way home, I can’t help but wish for an outdoor wooden dining table with benches and chairs, hanging d-i-y mason jar lamps and having guests over every weekend.   Wouldn’t it be great if I can eat my meal outside?

I was helping a friend to look up the Marcus medical uniforms when my spouse handed me a copy of Skona Hem, a home decor magazine.  I was so taken by this home which was featured in the magazine.  It is such a cozy place filled with natural and reclaimed materials.  I love the wood colours in the home.  The walls of the home was roughed up with some cement to add texture.  Here are some pics of the lovely home.

The kitchen is made with Ikea cabinets with custom  doors made from salvaged wood.  Such a rustic feel.

Since this is a home furnishing blog, I usually post about home decorating ideas and stuff that I like.  I hardly share any tips regarding cleaning or sustainable living.  Having said that, I came across this really cool tip on how to remove stains from tupperwares.  This is still related to to the home scene so I am going to start sharing tips on how to keep the home clean in this blog.  Ok, back to the cool tip from Re-Nest.  I am always at my wits end when I discover stains on my beloved Tupperwares, especially after I have used them to store tomato or chilli sauce.  Now, we can say goodbye to those stains with lemons.  To get the stains out, just rub half a lemon and make sure to leave some juice on the stained plastic.  Then leave the tupperware out in the sun to dry and wash it away as normal.   The acid in the lemon juice is great for removing dirt and rust.

Gee, I cannot believe that we are in August already.  I thought summer has just begun.  Winter will be here before we know it and soon, we will need to turn on the infrared heater in our home.  I was looking around on where we could go for a short holiday before the summer comes to end and I chanced upon The Good Hotel in San Francisco.  This eco-friendly hotel is tastefully decorated with reclaimed and recycled construction materials.  It also feature blankets made from recycled soda bottles, recycled water bottle chandeliers and water conserving toilets.  Ain’t this something?  I would love to stay in this green hotel which is also very affordable with rooms ranging from $89 to $149.
