Are you like me who dislike clutter? Well, here are some useful tips which I found from Better Homes and Gardens on how to cut clutter in your home.

Keep things organized and attractive like using a lovely bowl or basket to keep all your keys.  Colourful document holders can be used to hold bills.

Bookshelves placed back to back are great as room divider as well as storage for books, collections and more.

Furniture with dual purpose such as coffee tables with drawers, chest that can be used as side tables or ottomans with lift-off tops are perfect for storing magazines, books, vga cable, cds, dvds and etc.

Keep the children’s room tidy with storage bins, baskets or drawers to keep toys, books, scarves, hats and more.

Bathroom Storage Ideas

I have a 10′ x 10′ bathroom but I seem to have run out of storage space.  I don’t even have any space to keep the towels or toilet papers.  I intend to give my bathroom a simple makeover to create more storage areas.  While browsing Better Homes & Gardens, I found some brilliant bathroom storage ideas which I think I am going to try.

Put up adjustable shelves on the wall as they do not take floor space

Keep my necessities near the tub by using a metal rod with accessories to hold the shower products.

My bathroom does not have a closet but since I have space, it would be a good idea to get one.   Thus, I can keep all the towels, knicks-knacks, toilet paper and even my Spiro Check spirometer neatly in the closet.

A D-I-Y shelf using a divided plywood box covered in newsprint or magazine pages is a creative way to create storage.

A co-worker is planning to re-do her bathroom and she asked me if I have any ideas to share with her.  She also told me that she has been shopping around for hand dryers as she intends to have one in her bathroom too.  My friend does not want the decor to be too overwhelming.  A minimal bathroom with lots of storage space is what she is looking for.   I was looking at IdealMagazine.co.uk and found some really great bathroom inspiration. I hope my friend would get some good ideas from them.

I love using things that are made from bamboo, grass and wood.  As such you would find many baskets or wooden crates in my home.  I just love having them in my house.  They are beautiful, sustainable, great for storing things as well as adding a touch of warmth to any room.  I use a lot of baskets to keep my magazines, Canon camera, fruits, knick-knacks and many other loose items around the home.  Actually these baskets can be used in many places around the home such as the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.   I saw many neat basket storage solutions at Better Homes and Gardens.  Here are a few of my favorites.

There is something about the rustic style which appeals to me.  I love the aged effect on the furniture.   Weathered furniture offers a warm and cosy style to the space.  Below are two bathroom decors from Better Homes and Garden.

I am so in love with this rustic door on the cabinet.

I love how simple this bathroom is.  A tub, a chair, a table a cabinet, a towel rack and a huge rattan basket.

I do not like a messy home and it is so hard to keep everything organized around the home.  There are toys everywhere, books, magazines, hair clips, keys, etc. I like to use bamboo baskets or grass weaved baskets to keep some of the things.  If you need help organizing the things in your closet or anywhere around the home, here are some beautiful handmade bins from Sewing Momma at Etsy.com.  These fabric storage bins are great for storing magazines, socks, ipods, toys and just about anything you can think of.  I just changed my mind about using wicker or bamboo baskets ever since I saw these handmade storage bins.
