I love crates. I love its rustic look.  There are a few in my home which I got from the grocery stores.  Right now the crates are being used as storage for my tools out in the porch.  I have been looking for more crates so that I can gather a few of them together and put them in my bedroom to store my accessories, boots or t-shirts. They are so versatile.  I saw this cool idea from Storage and Glee. – Putting a smaller crate into the bigger one.

Great idea?

I absolutely adore these cute Bow Bins from AreaWare.com.  Created by German designer, Cordula Kehrer, the bins are produced by the indigenous Aeta people of the Philippines via fair trade NGO Preda.  These whimsical bins are made from sustainably harvested rattan and reclaimed bins.  The rattan and colourful plastic combination is so eye-catching.  I would love to have a few in my home.

Here are two great ideas on how to create some decor in your home.  if you are into DIY stuff,  then I am sure that you are going to love this as much as I do.  I found these inspirational ideas from CountryLiving.com which feature home accessories made from material found at the hardware store.

Cardboard tubes make chic wall storage.  I like this idea a lot because you can use the tubes as storage.  Sure brightens up an entryway.

You can create shelving to the powder room to hold toiletries with an upcycled wine crate or wooden box.  Add shelves to fit the box and then fasten a gilded frame onto the front of the box for a bit of glamour.

I love to having rattan or seagrass baskets around my home.  They are so handy and aesthetically pleasing.  I buy baskets of different shapes and sizes and they are in my living area, bathroom, kitchen, etc.  I found several images of baskets in my favourite decor blogs and I just love them.

I heart the open shelving filled with baskets to keep things organized in the kitchen.  They are great for storing kitchen towels, household supplies, appetite suppressant pills or more. Image via Design Sponge.

When I was staying in a 600 sq. ft. apartment, space was very limited.  I also had a hard time finding a drying space for my clothes.  I do not fancy using the dryer and prefer to lay or hang them up to dry.  Due to space constraint, I could only use a simple drying rack which could only hold about 6 hangers and 2 pieces of clothing flat on the rack.   If you are looking for a good drying rack for your indoor or outdoor use, do check out this Free Standing Drying Rack from Organize.com.  This cleverly designed drying rack has enough space for 2 machine loads.  It also features adjustable levels to accommodate short and long items.   It can even fit inside a shower.

I saw this beautiful home at one of my favourite home decor blogs – Sfgirlbybay.com and fell totally head over heads in love with it.  It has got a  funky edge to it.   I adore the dining area.  I love how mismatched chairs are used.   Did I tell you that I love mismatched chairs?

Check out the living area. Love the little dashes of pink and blue against the white background.

Another part of the house that I like. The bathroom.  Check out the lovely red curtains which is great to add some colours to the bathroom.  I like the white timber flooring and the white mirror.  Actually I like the whole place.  I can picture myself relaxing in the bathtub, reading the managed hosting service catalog or a book.

Sea green floor.  Who would have thought of this great colour for the floor?

Can’t get enough of these granny stool covers.

I love the yellow tub and the pretty shower curtain

I just found this really cool basket from Pottery Barns.  Love it.  It features an antique bronze finish.  The basket is great for storing knick-knacks in the bathroom, kitchen or even the home office. I think this basket will look great on my dining table.  Maybe I can put some breads or other snack food in it.  It is also great for storing magazines, remote controls or ipods in the bedroom.  Oh my, I can practically store anything in this chic basket.

I was blog-hopping just now and came across this really great idea for the home at pickupsomecreativity.blogspot.com.  The owner of this blog had used some big cans to perk up her laundry room.    First, she spray-painted the can.  Then she cut out some fabrics and used hot glue gun to glue the fabric into it.  Voila, brightly coloured cans to store knick-knacks in the laundry room. You can even use these repurposed fabric cans in the kitchen to hold cutlery or prenatal multivitamins.

I heart these baskets from Ferm-Living.com.  They are too sweet for words.   Each basket is hand-knitted and made of 100% cotton rope.  As you can see from the photo above, these lovely knitted baskets are great for holding magazines, newspapers, fruits or logs near the fireplace.  I can think of a hundred things to store in these baskets.  They look great in the bathroom to store accessories such as comb, face wash, blackhead removal cream, make-up set, towels and more.   The knitted basket comes in three colours – yellow, petrol and charcoal.
