I love distressed furniture.  It is a great way to decorate the home.  Distressed furniture creates a look that appears to be from years of use.  It creates a warm cozy atmosphere.  I wonder where I could find a distressed computer table to hold the epson printers in my home office? Perhaps I should start learning how to distressed my furniture.  Anyway, if you are a fan of French Shabby Chic furniture, I am sure you would also love the distressed furniture I found while blog-hopping.

I was blog-hopping just now and came across this really great idea for the home at pickupsomecreativity.blogspot.com.  The owner of this blog had used some big cans to perk up her laundry room.    First, she spray-painted the can.  Then she cut out some fabrics and used hot glue gun to glue the fabric into it.  Voila, brightly coloured cans to store knick-knacks in the laundry room. You can even use these repurposed fabric cans in the kitchen to hold cutlery or prenatal multivitamins.

I found this fabulous etsy store called Old Crow Farm from GoingHomeToRoost.com.   Old Crow Farm rescues cool junk for those who love to spruce up their home or office with vintage items.  I found so many lovely things in this online shop.  Here are some of my favourite pieces.

White and Chippy White Basket

This rescued farm find is great for storing magazines, toilet rolls or extra towels in the powder room.  You can also line this cool basket with moss and turn it into a beautiful spring planter.

Old Bakery Pans

Oh how I adore this old bakery pan.  It has 4 spots to organize kitchen utensils, crafts, accessories, bills and letters.   It makes a perfect organizer.  I can see it in my bathroom holding my toothpaste, creams, face wash for acne and more.

Vintage Locker Door Note Board

I love this funky distressed lattice design metal locker door.  A great message board or display for family photos.

Lately, there has been a strange problem with my laptop.  Tabs have been opening and closing by themselves.  It happens every few minutes.   I have run spyware and malware programmes on the laptop but to no avail.  This is very frustrating indeed.  Since we cannot solve this problem, my husband intends to get another laptop or maybe a desktop computer.  He has been reading the computer reviews online to find out more.  There are so many choices available now.  My husband is also interested in getting a netbook too since he will be traveling quite a lot in the next few months.  Since he is looking into buying computers, I better start shopping for a new workstation. I am inspired by the workstation below.

I love using things that are made from bamboo, grass and wood.  As such you would find many baskets or wooden crates in my home.  I just love having them in my house.  They are beautiful, sustainable, great for storing things as well as adding a touch of warmth to any room.  I use a lot of baskets to keep my magazines, Canon camera, fruits, knick-knacks and many other loose items around the home.  Actually these baskets can be used in many places around the home such as the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.   I saw many neat basket storage solutions at Better Homes and Gardens.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Home Office In Small Spaces

When I was pondering over this question – does enzyte work? which my husband asked me, I received a call from a good friend of mine. She told me that she has decided to start her own home-based retail business.  My friend asked me if I can share with her on how to set up a home office in her apartment.  Since she does not have much space in her 1500 sq. ft. apartment,  there are a few options which she can use.

A closet can be turned into a work station.  Just add some file cabinets under a low shelf.  What’s great about this is that when you don’t feel like cleaning up, just shut the door.

The space between the bedroom and the master bath can be turned into a workspace.

The bedroom can double up as a home office by just adding a desk and bookshelves to one of the walls.  Then install a curtain rod and curtain to close off the space for some added privacy.
