I just saw a really cool summer house from Elle Interior last night. I thought I’ll share this bright and airy summer home with all of you.  I wish I have a home like this.  The white walls are so calming and peaceful.

The bedroom.  I love the bamboo headboard.  It is so simple and has a minimalist look.

A white kitchen with open shelves

I love the picnic bench and the bamboo pendant lamp.

I saw this cute wall clock idea at decor8 just now.  A great way to decorate the nursery or your little ones’ room.  It is a Passe-Partout photo frame clock which you can fill with colourful prints, photographs or gift wrap for the unique look.    This clock is available at Dutch by Design.  Perhaps I should try my hands on doing one too once I have done reading about the disability insurance.  It looks pretty easy to do eh?  Just get the center timepiece with arms and  12 different sizes photo frames.   Time to let the creative juice flow.

I love to see wooden pallets being upcycled as home furniture.  I have come across articles about wooden pallets being treated with chemicals hence they are not very suitable as furniture.  I wonder if there is a way to remove the chemical.  Would any of you know? When I was at Pinterest, I found a few wonderful ideas on how wooden pallets are re-purposed as furniture.    It is pretty inspiring.

I should be shopping for a grad present now but I am still hooked on Pinterest. I just saw this really clever idea on Pinterest – Storage under the staircase.   It is one of the oldest space saving tricks in interior design handbook.  Making use of the leftover space underneath the staircase is so creative.  It can be used to keep toys, linen, knick-knacks and junk.   A great storage solution for homes that are short of space.

I just saw this lovely idea on Tatertots and Jello.  I love how an old door is being used as a table.  The owner found this old door in the barn and then decided to turn it into an outdoor table.  She painted it blue and stenciled some words on it.  Ain’t it gorgeous?

This is so inspiring.  Now I want to go find some old doors and turn them into tables too.

I just came across a very beautiful home and can’t wait to share it with you here. I saw the photos from seesawdesigns.blogspot.com.  What I love about this space is the lovely flooring.  I also love the wooden chairs in the dining.  Where can I get them?  The wooden chairs are so lovely.

Below is a photo of the kitchen.  Check out the beautiful flooring and also the white wall tiles.  I so want this for my kitchen.

I think I can live in this house!

I absolutely adore these cute Bow Bins from AreaWare.com.  Created by German designer, Cordula Kehrer, the bins are produced by the indigenous Aeta people of the Philippines via fair trade NGO Preda.  These whimsical bins are made from sustainably harvested rattan and reclaimed bins.  The rattan and colourful plastic combination is so eye-catching.  I would love to have a few in my home.

You know how much I love products made from bamboos eh?  Well, when I spotted these awesome idea from Pinterest, I just had to blog about it.   Get a few bamboo steamers in different sizes  (available at most Asian grocery stores), remove the bottom and glue the steamers together.  When secured, hang the bamboo steamers on the wall with nails or picture hooks and use them as storage.  A very unique and eco-friendly way to store small items and even portable baby monitors if you like.

If you do not know already, I am obsessed with anything that is made from straw  or grass. While searching for barcode scanners, I hopped over to one of my favourite retail stores, Free People’s blog and saw the beautiful displays in their new store in Houston.  There were many straw basket lights hanging from their ceiling. The bottoms of the baskets have been painted with colours and hung on the wall too.   These basket pendant lights are just awesome!

Beautiful and creative

They are great as planters too.

I just love this idea very much.  I hope to find some of these baskets for my home.
