I am going through a pallet phase right now. I just love the raw color of the pallet. I came across this brilliant idea by Katrin Arens at Remodelista.com. She used a discarded pallet and re-fashioned it into a plate rack. Another great idea to decorate the wall but of course, it cannot be used to hold heavy items such as a receipt printer. Katrin used a bit of beeswax to brighten and beautify the pallet. I also love how she used the old nails to hold the plates. What do you think?

One of my favorite type of kitchen decors is open shelving. I love to see bowls, plates, cups and jars all neatly arranged on the shelves, especially colorful ones. One important tip I have learnt is that when you opt for open shelving, try not to mix your dishes with food items. It’s best to group like things together so that they don’t look so complicated.
