Phew what a long day it is. Besides checking out hockey trophies online, cooking meals and folding the laundry, I have been cleaning the garage. My garage really needs a good clean-up and re-organization. I cannot believe it that we have so many things in the garage. Apart from tools, there are also some vehicles spare parts and etc. I bought this useful Jumbo Utility Cart from The Container Store for storage. They are great for storing the little knick-knacks in the garage.
I am having a slight problem with my shoe closet. It is not big enough to accommodate my shoes. It is pretty obvious that I am a shoe lover and I cannot resist shoes when I see them. I need to give my shoe closet a makeover or perhaps build another one which has more space for my ever-growing shoe collection. Saw a few shoe storage ideas online yesterday. Below are my favourites :-

I am constantly running out of space in the shoe closet. This is because I love buying shoes. Hey, a woman can never have too many shoes eh? I think I need to get the Stepper, a minimalist and lightweight shoe rack which folds flat for easy storage and transport. How functional is that? The Stepper features bi-level rack which store up to six pairs of shoes. Available at Quirky.com.
My garage is not exactly organized at the moment. It is driving me a little crazy to see things everywhere on the floor and some in bags strewn all over the garage. I was looking for storage ideas online and chanced upon these handy cubby sets from PlowHearth.com. They are made from solid wood and feature many compartments. There are so many things you can keep in this organiser like boots, garden supplies, tools and many more. I think I can even keep my mazda mx 3 custom floor mats here. They are also great for the kitchen, laundry room or children’s room.
Have you checked out West Elm lately? I am loving its new collection right now. It is the Global Bazaar which feature items from markets around the world.
Traditional Indonesian ikat patterns on woven baskets made from grass. Great for storing toys, magazines, towels and knick-knacks.
Beautiful woven plates made from grass are great for decorating a boring wall.
Lovely handcrafted beaded boxes made from bamboo and glass beads. They are great for storing trinkets and treasures.
I should be shopping for a grad present now but I am still hooked on Pinterest. I just saw this really clever idea on Pinterest – Storage under the staircase. It is one of the oldest space saving tricks in interior design handbook. Making use of the leftover space underneath the staircase is so creative. It can be used to keep toys, linen, knick-knacks and junk. A great storage solution for homes that are short of space.
While my spouse was reading a catalog on pool disability access lifts, I decided to surf the internet, looking for a housewarming gift for a friend. I was at H&M Home and came across so many gorgeous items. Should I also get a few things for my home too? Oh they really made me want to give my home a makeover. Here are a few things that caught my eye.
Woven Plastic For Storage
Printed Patchwork Cushion Cover
Textile Baskets
Cute Shower Curtain
Doormat
You know how much I love products made from bamboos eh? Well, when I spotted these awesome idea from Pinterest, I just had to blog about it. Get a few bamboo steamers in different sizes (available at most Asian grocery stores), remove the bottom and glue the steamers together. When secured, hang the bamboo steamers on the wall with nails or picture hooks and use them as storage. A very unique and eco-friendly way to store small items and even portable baby monitors if you like.
One of the things that really irks me and is driving me up the wall is a tangled mess of cords. It does not help that I have a laptop on the dining table and another netbook in the living area. There are just too many cables running all over the place. I think what I need is this AppleCore Cable Managers. It comes in 3 different sizes and shades. The AppleCore Cable Managers are specifically designed to handle all household appliances and are good for long or extra long cables around the house. Available at Apple-Cores.com
