My house is pretty messy right now. Everywhere is overflowing with stuff.   I must really de-clutter, from the living room to the kitchen.  While blog-hopping just now, I chanced upon some clever organization solutions for the home. Storage bins are great for keeping toys, household cleaners, ink cartridges and other knick-knacks.

When I was staying in a 600 sq. ft. apartment, space was very limited.  I also had a hard time finding a drying space for my clothes.  I do not fancy using the dryer and prefer to lay or hang them up to dry.  Due to space constraint, I could only use a simple drying rack which could only hold about 6 hangers and 2 pieces of clothing flat on the rack.   If you are looking for a good drying rack for your indoor or outdoor use, do check out this Free Standing Drying Rack from Organize.com.  This cleverly designed drying rack has enough space for 2 machine loads.  It also features adjustable levels to accommodate short and long items.   It can even fit inside a shower.

I have been spending the last few days trying to de-clutter my home.  I have done the living room and the kid’s bedroom.  Today, the first day of 2011, I am trying to organize my closet.  I need to find more space for my clothes, especially for my new dereon pants and top. I received a clear underbed shoe organizer for Christmas and I am going to use that to store all my summer shoes.  This practical and space-saving organizer is great to keep my shoes dust free.

I am always on the lookout for storage ideas.  I just cannot get enough of them.  I used to stay in a rather small apartment and was always short on space.  I used to read magazines or browse the internet for creative storage ideas for my home.  Here is another great storage idea for the entryway from Remodelista.com.  Though you cannot use it to store scales, but this wall-mounted canvas pocket hanger is great for stashing away keys, mail, sunnies or just about anything you like.

A friend of mine is planning to decorate the bedroom for her 4 year old daughter.   This is the first time her daughter will be sleeping on her own so she would like to make the bedroom a fun and cozy place for her.  My friend asked me if I have any idea where to find some lovely and functional items for decorating a little girl’s bedroom.  Here’s what I found at Giggle.com.

If you are short on storage and are looking for some storage ideas, then you may want to check out this awesome shelving system from Baileys Home and Garden.  It is a wall of shelves made from sturdy apple crates.  I love the rustic look it creates.  This lovely idea is very eye-catching and is great for storing magazines, shoes, books, mementos, under eye wrinkle cream or displaying your favourite knick-knacks.  I would love to have one in my home.  It can be displayed near the entryway or used as a room divider.

Besides looking for weight loss tips, I am also looking for ways on how to store my handbags.  I love handbags and have many in my collection.  However, I find it very difficult to store them.  They have been hanging in my closet for a while but I am not keen with this idea because hanging the bags would compromise the quality of straps. A friend told me to use a hanging canvas organizer from Organize.com to keep them.  Made from quality breathable canvas material, it has separate storage for different bags.   By using this organizer, the bags will be free from dust and I can see them clearly compared to keeping the bags in a storage box.

I just found this really cool basket from Pottery Barns.  Love it.  It features an antique bronze finish.  The basket is great for storing knick-knacks in the bathroom, kitchen or even the home office. I think this basket will look great on my dining table.  Maybe I can put some breads or other snack food in it.  It is also great for storing magazines, remote controls or ipods in the bedroom.  Oh my, I can practically store anything in this chic basket.

I came across this brilliant idea on how to hang the bike at home at Apartment Therapy.  Chris Brigham, a graphic designer who has a knack for woodworking and building things designed this shelf for bicycle storage.  It features a groove for the bike frame plus a ledge for storing the helmet, gear or just about anything.  A great idea for those who live in small dwellings.
