I was blog-hopping yesterday and saw some beautiful decorated rooms.  They are so inspiring as always.   I wish that one day, I can transform my home into one as beautiful as these.

I love how the plates and saucers are decorated on the wall of this white kitchen

Decorating With Empty Frames On The Wall

Recently I decided to decorate my stairway wall with some empty picture frames.  One of my friends visited my home a couple of days ago.  An ardent feng-shui fan, my friend said that while it is lovely to decorate with empty picture frames of various sizes, I should not have them on my wall.  It is a big no- no as decorating with empty picture frames would bring disharmony to the family *yikes*  So, before I begin to take any vitamins for hair loss due to stress from any unpleasant things happening in the family, I took all the frames down and replaced them with photo frames and small mirrors.

If you would like to dress up your boring wall, here is something unique and beautiful which I really like.   These delicate Butterfly ornaments were created by Cindy-Lee Davies from the Lighthy design group in Australia and are not just wall decoration. They are designed to reflect the natural life cycle of a product.  Carefully crafted from recycled saucers, the decorative saucers can be wall mounted.  Well, I never knew a broken plate can be made into something so pretty.  So, if you are looking for ideas to decorate your wall, do take a look at these Butterfly Ornaments from TrendHunter.com.  You may also want to check out some wall mounted electric fireplaces which can add a sophisticated ambiance to any room.

When I first saw the Bookwave Hanging Storage, I was bowled over.  It is so cool and I have not seen anything like this before.  The Bookwave Hanging Storage is great for holding your book collection, magazines or even cad drawings.  Besides being used as a bookshelf, it can be used as a room divider or craftly designed curtain.  Made from felt, it can expand to any size.  Check out Materialicious.com for more information.

Here is another great idea to decorate the wall and also keep your room neat and tidy. The striking newspaper holder which can be wall mounted can accommodate up to 30 magazines or newspapers.  It is made of powder-coated steel and available in five different shades.  I find this newspaper holder very attractive like those cardboard displays I see at the stores. A neat item for those who are short on space.

I was talking to my friend earlier about Ikea furniture.  Both of us are big Ikea fans.  We just love everything about them…their furniture, the food they serve at the cafe and also their staff.  They are so friendly and helpful.  I think Ikea does a good job on the employee screening.  My friend was telling me that she found a superb blog called Ikea Hacker which features creative twists to Ikea furniture & accessories.   One of the contributors used ten Malma mirrors, some emulsion and a pattern, and turn them into decorative mirrors for the wall.  How cool is that?

I like notice boards because I like to pin up photos or quotes which inspire me.  My notice board is full of yellow stickies too because I can be rather forgetful.  If you are looking for a notice board to write your thoughts, messages or reminders like “Remember to buy hgh releasers“, here are two small boards for narrow wall spaces.  Great for those who are short on space.  I really don’t mind getting the pink ones because they are pretty striking.   Available at Huset-shop.com.
