Organizing Solutions For The Garage

One of the things that on top of my to-do list this weekend is to de-clutter my garage. Besides the usual toolboxes, we have been dumping gardening supplies as well as old books, toys and clothing in the garage. I must really re-organized the garage to create more manageable space. I would need to get some good shelving system, bins and storage boxes. Below are a few neat garage inspiration from Apartment Therapy.

I cannot wait to kiss the garage clutter goodbye and say hello to a clean and multifunctional space soon.

I was blog-hopping at Decorology just now and came across this house that I really love. Actually I love everything about this house, from its wall colour to the little knick-knacks. I can so live in a house like this.

Check out the cool ladder storage against the wall. An awesome way to store the shoes. I would love to have one in my room to store a few of my precious nubuck leather shoes and wedges.

Recycled tin cans as storage. Lovely.

IKEA Pendant Lamp

So I was at IKEA again a few days ago, looking for some ideas. Actually I plan to change my pendant lamp which has been in my living room for 4 years. I would like to DIY the pendant lamp if I can. When I came to the Lighting section, I saw the white VATE Pendant lamp shade.

It was decorated with Slatthult Decorative stickers. The pendant lamp looks so nice with the stickers on it. I think I should consider this idea or perhaps dye some coffee filters and stick them onto the lamp for a ruffled design. I saw this on Pinterest a while ago. Let me go and buy the VATE pendant lamp shade first.

Outdoor Furniture

We are planning for a little dinner party two weeks from now. It is actually going to be a BBQ at the backyard so I am hoping that the weather will be warmer then. So, while the spouse is busy looking for steak seasoning for our BBQ, I was at 2Modern.com shopping for some outdoor pillows. It is time for me to give the outdoor furniture a makeover with some new pillows.

Seahorse Sunflower Pillow. I really like this as it’s bright and just perfect for my beige armchairs.

Fabric Wall Stickers For Children’s Bedroom

Besides getting a two step stool for my kitchen, I am also thinking of getting some wall stickers for my daughter’s bedroom. Yes, I still haven’t done decorating her bedroom yet. I think some wall stickers or decals would be a nice touch. I found a few lovely ones from Pop And Lolli last night. They are fabric stickers which are very easy to install. Just peel and stick.

Fridge Love

One of the things on top of my wish list is to get a fridge in bright colours like the SMEG fridge. It has a retro design and comes in delicious colours. I spotted them at a few places recently and they give me butterflies in the tummy. I remember seeing a similar design fridge at my aunt’s house when I was little. Hers was in pastel green and it was huge. I would love to have a pink one in my home.

Painted Rugs, Anyone?

I was blog-hopping at my favourite blogs earlier and came upon these great ideas for the home – Painted Rugs. I have never thought of this before. A very clever and fun alternative to rugs. You know how rugs are. They can get very dusty and vacuuming them will not solve the problem. I love concrete flooring and if I were to add a painted rug on the floor, it will just be perfect. So practical and hygienic. I can picture myself chilling in a home like the photos below, enjoying my cuppa while wrapped in a heated blanket.

Outdoor Wedding Ideas

A close friend of mine is planning for her wedding which will be held this September. She wants an outdoor wedding and have been looking around for some inspiration. She is trying to gather ideas on how to decorate her wedding venue and plan to do everything herself instead of hiring a wedding planner. Her husband-to-be plays in a band at the local bar during weekends and for their wedding, he plans to perform too. So they will be needing a stage at the wedding for the performance, complete with Blackstar Amps and etc. It is going to be so much fun. I found some interesting wedding decor at Pinterest and I am sure my friend would be thrilled.
