Furnishing My Home!

A friend of mine who works in a career network which connects job seekers who are looking for Technologists & Technicians Jobs, is busy renovating her house right now.  She hopes to get everything done before Christmas.  She loves the colour gray and yellow, and is on the search for some inspiration on how to decorate her home in these hues.  Frankly, I think gray and yellow are beautiful and very classy.  I found a few photos from my favourite home decor blogs and are going to show them to my friend. I have a housewarming party to attend in 2 week’s time.  A good friend of mine has moved into 3 bedroom apartment in downtown.  I cannot wait to see her beautiful home.  Since my friend loves to host dinners and parties at home, I am thinking of buying something unique for her home.   There are a few things which I love from Ruche.  Still cannot decide which one I should get for my friend.

I have a thing for mismatched chairs in the dining area.  I have written about this a few times in my blog.  Just love the looks of the mismatched chairs.  It is charming and a great way to express yourself creativity.  Don’t you find that eclectic?   I am often inspired by the ones I see in my favourite decor blogs.  Hopefully I can do that to my dining room.  Just have to find the right mismatched chairs.

I am having a slight problem with my shoe closet.  It is not big enough to accommodate my shoes.  It is pretty obvious that I am a shoe lover and I cannot resist shoes when I see them.   I need to give my shoe closet a makeover or perhaps build another one which has more space for my ever-growing shoe collection.  Saw a few shoe storage ideas online yesterday.  Below are my favourites :-

A good friend’s birthday is coming up and I have been looking around for a gift for her.  My friend loves to bake and I thought perhaps I could get her some baking items or kitchen ware.  I found a few nice things at Anthropologie and have shortlisted a few things.  Have you checked out Anthropologie lately?

I love crates. I love its rustic look.  There are a few in my home which I got from the grocery stores.  Right now the crates are being used as storage for my tools out in the porch.  I have been looking for more crates so that I can gather a few of them together and put them in my bedroom to store my accessories, boots or t-shirts. They are so versatile.  I saw this cool idea from Storage and Glee. – Putting a smaller crate into the bigger one.

So Halloween has come and gone.  Time sure flies.  Did you take your kids out for Halloween?  The weather is getting colder now eventhough it’s only the beginning of November.  I should really get my down jackets at RockyMountainTrail.com this winter.  While blog-hopping just now, I came across this really charming apartment in Paris which has a vintage touch to it.  It is a small apartment which is tastefully decorated.  My favourite rooms are

Besides recycled pallets, wooden crates or woven baskets, I am also in love with burlaps.  The sights of coffee sacks or gunny sacks make my heart skip faster.  I find them very beautiful and love seeing how they are used to decorate the home.  Burlaps give the space a very natural feel.  Here are a few wonderful items made from burlaps as well as decorating using burlaps.

I am constantly running out of space in the shoe closet.  This is because I love buying shoes.  Hey, a woman can never have too many shoes eh?  I think I need to get the Stepper, a minimalist and lightweight shoe rack which folds flat for easy storage and transport.  How functional is that?  The Stepper features bi-level rack which store up to six pairs of shoes.  Available at Quirky.com.
